Welcome to the 50th anniversary conference of the National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions. The theme of the conference is Collective Bargaining in Higher Education Looking Back, Looking Forward, 1973-2023, celebrating a half-century of labor-management engagement through collective bargaining. An article describing the National Center’s history was recently published in the Journal of Collective Bargaining in the Academy.
We look forward to the next 50 years, continuing the study and analysis of collective bargaining and unionization on campus and among professional employees in other industries.
Thank you for attending and supporting our anniversary conference. Special thanks goes to our sponsors: TIAA, Morgan, Brown & Joy, AFT, AAUP, PSC, NEA National Council of Higher Education, SEIU, Cullen & Dykman, and The Standard. We also thank the law firms, unions, and companies that have placed advertisements in the conference program.
Finally, we must thank President Raab, along with Hunter College and Roosevelt House staff, Hunter College Ambassadors, and conference staff and volunteers, who have provided us with support and assistance. This special conference website would not have been possible without the assistance of Web and Digital Initiatives Librarian Iris Finkel.
